Dome for a Playground

This combined project and Workshop took place in Jusoor School, Jeb Jeneen, in the West Bekaa area of Lebanon. It involved providing on-field practical experience with focus on: experimental self construction site, theoretical lectures, sustainable techniques and social participation.

The idea behind ‘Dome For A Playground’ was to give participants the opportunity to work side by side with the EAHR Team and the community to develop a new idea of playground defending the RIGHT TO PLAY. Theoretical lectures were also provided by the EAHR trainers, on the topics of Architecture & Human Rights, and on techniques such as SuperAdobe. In this On-Field workshop, participants will contribute to build and fund a playground, for JJ School, working side by side with the local community. Objectives ▪ Provide a playground and sport facilities for the local branch of Jusoor. Activities 1+1=11 On-Field workshop will offer the following activities: ▪ Introduction to the SuperAdobe Technique
▪ Spread the knowledge about social architecture and social participation.
▪ Provide a safe recreational space for students and teachers, in order to enhance motor skills, problem solving, balance and improving coordination and dexterity.
▪ Participants will work side by side with EAHR Team, where they will learn how to build with their hand and how to work with carpentry, SuperAdobe technique.
