By building a sustainable outdoor structure connecting the old library with the adjacent garden, we wanted to embrace the symbiotic relationship between culture, people, and nature. The result was a multifunctional space that serves as a platform for leisure, storytelling, books, and plants sharing, and much more.

The Green Open Library was the outcome of an exciting co-working experience with the community of the Sydhavn neighborhood, and the local organisation Sydhavnsplanterne Karens Minde Kulturhus. Activities focused on situational awareness, local dreams and needs, and visualisation of our future spaces. It is part of a broader strategic plan for the sustainable urban renewal of the area.
