Launched in 2023, Wonderful Copenhack is our critical and humorous campaign that actively works with some of the capital’s most pressing challenges in new ways. Themes such as gentrification, marginalization and the right to the city are taken up through a broad dissemination effort, which is realized in collaboration with some of the city’s hardworking NGOs, organisations, street workers, as well as relevant networks of research groups and cultural institutions. 

This year, we have continued this work in multiple ways. We added a 5th map to our collection, addressing the precarity of student housing. We have established strategic partnerships with several book and concept stores throughout Copenhagen, where our maps find a wider audience. And with our Copenhack LAB workshop series (see under Workshops 2024), we translated the campaign’s critical commentary into concrete ways of working innovatively with urban spaces.

For the new year, we have more maps in store and new innovative hacks planned, contributing to a critical and constructive conversation about the past, present and future use of Copenhagen as an urban space.
